Broadleaf Arbor

Concept

While conceptualizing the motif for this interior wall mural (W:53’7” x H:8’4”), located in the Senior Housing Building, it was necessary for this communal space to have a neutrally inspired, soft voice yet independent type graphic. Through offering subtle movement and being its own harmonious gesture in the overall area. 

This design submission reflects the lines directly taken from the topography maps existing from the surrounding wetland area. This “homage” to the landscape integrates the color schemes and contour lines. It can also be viewed in other ways, relating to nature, waves, a landscape, or perceived as partial rings of a tree.
